The five day Survival Essentials Workshop is our most popular offering and lays the groundwork for a lifetime of wilderness living enjoyment. A combination of lecture, demonstration, discussion, and hands on training, the Survival Essentials Workshop examines your immediate needs during a survival situation, and how they relate to living with the land long term.
Whether you want reconnect with your ancestors, survive in the bush, or experience nature more fully, The Survival Essentials 5 Day Workshop is a step in the journey to better understanding ourselves. Covering the topics of shelter, water, fire, food, and tools, each day we will explore both primitive and modern techniques for meeting your needs efficiently. A tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, personal items, and outdoor gear are recommended. However, all that is required is proper attire to spend the days on the landscape. We have ample gear for you to try, use, abuse, and some even to take home. You will leave here knowing what is the right gear to get, why we choose it, and even more importantly, what to do if you don't have it.
The most difficult part of this class is the download of information. The Survival Essentials Workshop is usually suitable for ages 11 and up with parent or guardian. However class participants have ranged from 7 to 77. It is on you to determine if your child is ready for the class. There is a lot of information that we have to cover and a short time to get through it. Also we're going to give them a knife.
